Violence claims 6 more lives

At least six people including a doctor were killed in firing incidents on Saturday in Karachi.

According to details, some unidentified persons opened fire in Nazimabad area and killed a man and wounded another. The deceased was identified as Dr Ikram. Some armed persons, riding a car, opened fire in Sakhi Hassan and Gulbahar and shot three people dead who were going to offer Jumma prayer. Two of the deceased were members of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat. On the other hand, police have recovered a dead body from Sheerin Jinnah Colony while a man received bullet wounds when some unidentified persons opened fire in Baldia Town.

Rangers arrested six people during raids in different parts of the city. Meanwhile, one alleged robber was killed and another sustained injury in a police firing at North Nazimabad on here Saturday. Police said the two motorbike riders, who ignored their signal to stop, were fired upon injuring both of them, while one of the injured succumbed to injuries on way to the hospital. Police claimed to have recovered pistol and mobile phone from the accused.
