Over 200 ghost employees have been unearthed in Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC).
Sources said RWMC on assumption of charge of sanitation work from April 1 started marking attendance of the sanitary workers. During this process it was detected that over 200 employees were receiving their salaries amounting to Rs 2.4 million per month from Solid Waste Department but they were not attending office.
Sources said that 100 sanitary workers were doing sanitation work at the residences of politicians and the officers. They have now returned to their duty for fear of any disciplinary action against them.
Sources disclosed that new MD of the company has sacked 25 employees and over 100 sanitary workers are still absenting from the duty.
