Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) on Friday dismiss Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s petition against the appointment of Chaudhry Qamar Zaman as Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB), a private news channel reported.

Three member bench headed by Justice Nasirul Mulk heard the case. Amicus Curiae Khwaja Haris told the bench that consultation between Leader of the Parliament and Leader of the Opposition is mandatory as per the NAB Act.

The bench asked that how the opposition leader is elected on which Barrister Aitezaz Ahsan said that opposition leader is the one who has the most support by opposition members in the Parliament.

Aitezaz Ahsan further said that opposition leader Syed Khursheed Shah approved the appointment of Chaudhry Qamar Zaman as Chairman NAB and the petition against him is inadmissible.

“If Imran Khan wants change then he can call for legislation in the National Assembly”, Ahsan said.

The court rejected the petition filed by Imran Khan after listening the arguments by the counsels.
