PESHAWAR-
Member of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) appointed intermediary committee Professor Ibrahim on Friday said that the militant outfit can agree for another truce if the government caters to their demands.
The Jamat-e-Islami (JI) leader was talking to media representatives today.
“The major grievance TTP has is that their non-combatants (imprisoned by government) are not being released. We are trying to convince them on the ceasefire but it will be possible when the government releases their prisoners,” said Ibrahim.
He said that his committee will find a way to convince TTP but only if the government demonstrates sincerity.
“There should be no war no matter what. We hope the matters will not get worse,” added the JI leader.
On Wednesday, the banned militant group announced that it would not be extending the ceasefire but would continue to hold peace talks.
