Pakistan’s ambassador-designate to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and permanent observer to African Union (AU) Imran Yawar called on President Mamnoon Hussain in Islamabad Friday.
Talking to him, the president said Pakistan values its close and cordial relationship with Ethiopia. He urged the newly-appointed ambassador to focus on further consolidating Pakistan’s relations with Ethiopia particularly trade and commercial ties.
The president said Pakistan’s trade with Africa in general and Ethiopia in particular is not commensurate with the existing goodwill and emphasized the need for more efforts to strengthen trade and economic ties with African countries.
