LEAs target six target killers

CCPO says criminals have confessed killing Dr Syed Ali Haider and his son Murtaza, Maulana Shamsul Rehman Muaavia and Allama Nasir Abbas, claims that the criminals used to kill on the orders of Malik Ishaq.

The law enforcement agencies (LEAs) nabbed six members of an outlawed group from the city, involved in sectarian violence.

Speaking in a press conference, Lahore CCPO Chaudhry Shafiq Ahmed said that six target killers identified as Abdul Rauf Gujjar, Sabir Shah, Shaikh Farhan Rafiq, Shafaqat Farooqi, Mohammad Hashim and Salman Pathan were arrested after their target killing network was tracked.

Chaudhry Shafiq Ahmed said that the arrested persons have confessed of killing Shakir Ali Rizvi, Masood Abid Naqvi, Dr Syed Ali Haider and his son Murtaza, Khurram Raza Qadri, Maulana Shams-ul-Rehman Muaavia and Allama Nasir Abbas.

The CCPO claimed that the arrested criminals used to kill on the orders of Malik Ishaq. He added that journalists, LEAs and religious figures were included in their hit list.

“Security men will continue to perform their duties without any fear”, Shafiq said. “People involved in sectarian violence are not subjected to any concessions”, he added.

Ahmed said that the supporters and leaders of terrorist factions have to be arrested for peace in the country and for the protection of the life and property of its citizens.
