Awami Action Committee (AAC) in Gilgit continued its protest on the third consecutive day against withdrawal of subsidy on wheat, a private news channel reported Thursday.
The business activities, however, continued in the region with consent of the AAC. Hours long negotiations were held between the action committee and provincial cabinet in Legislative Assembly of Gilgit Baltistan on Wednesday wherein the government accepted demands of fee collection from hospitals and end to loadshedding while it said the summary for restoration of subsidy on wheat would be sent to federal government for approval.
The action committee said they didn’t disrupt traffic or forced closure of business at it affect livelihood of people, but warned that protest and sit-in would continue until government accept their legal demands and issue notification in this regard.
