A special force of 400 police officials has been set up to cope with street crime in the city, which will perform their duties in two shifts.
These police officials will be deputed next week on the designated points to ensure quick police response to any untoward incident in the city. One hundred special motor-bikes are being provided to this force, said a police release here on Wednesday.
This was stated by Sindh Inspector General Iqbal Mehmood in a meeting with delegates of Jamaat-e-Islami and All Pakistan Shia Action Committee. He said that Sindh police’s special branch is also being re-organised besides carrying out reforms in the police in general.
