No flour shortage of flour in Sindh: Dahar

Sindh Food Minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar Wednesday said that first time in the history of Sindh, price of flour were lower than Punjab and the procurement process of wheat at government level is simple and transparent.
This he said while talking to various delegations at his residence here, said a statement. He said that there was no dearth of flour all over Sindh, including Hyderabad.
He said that Sindh Food Department had provided 523,450 wheat bags to chakkis in Hyderabad district and 531,840 bags to flour mills of Hyderabad.
Dahar added Sindh government gave subsidy of Rs 216 to 100 kilometers wheat bag each. In the market the flour has been available from Rs 41 per kg to Rs 42 per kg, while ex-mill price was Rs 39.50 and retail price was Rs 40.50 per kg.
He said to fix the price of the flour of chakkis, is the responsibility of Deputy Commissioner concerned while to maintain and to ensure the sale of flour at the price fixed by the government was the duty of local administration.
Due to measure taken by the Food Department Sindh, the prices of flour have got stability and the people of Sindh have got relief as well, the minister added.
