CM directs DCs to ensure timely completion of projects

KARACHI

Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has directed all Deputy Commissioners in the province to perform as Project Director (PD) and get the pace of development work expedited and ensure in time completion of the projects.
He said this while presiding over a meeting to review pace of development work, a handout issued here on Wednesday said.
He also directed the officers of Irrigation Department to start de-silting of canals / distributors, especially in district Badin and Thatta and complete it before the coming monsoon season to avoid losses due to flood.
The meeting discussed and reviewed the pace of ongoing development schemes in District Badin and Tando Muhammad Khan in detail and got briefing from the officers concerned.
Additional Chief Secretary (Development) Wasim Ahmed informed the that there are 73 on going schemes in the current ADP with annual allocation of Rs 2099.225 million in District Badin and 22 development scheme with annual allocation of Rs 251.855 million in District Tando Muhammad Khan.
Similarly Rs 591.000 million have so far been allocated for the Badin District under ADP 2013-14 and Rs 260 million for Tando Muhammad Khan District. He said that work on the development schemes in those districts was in progress at satisfactory pace.
The chief minister directed the Deputy Commissioners to perform as project director and get the development works completed within targeted period so that the purpose of investment to facilitate people be achieved.
