Rupee hits 18-month high against dollar

The dollar continues to lose value against the rupee, dropping to an eighteen month low in the interbank on Tuesday.

The dollar was trading at Rs95.70 in the interbank after losing by Rs0.50.

Analysts said that the rupee started gaining strength after the grant received from a friendly country, loans from the international institutions and successful floating of Euro Bonds. Besides, speculators have also started offloading dollars with its persistent losing value in the market.
