Two gas pipelines were blown up in Sindh and Balochistan on Tuesday which suspended the natural gas supply to various towns of Sindh, Balochistan and Punjab.
Police officials said unknown miscreants set off explosives to blow up a 16-inch diameter pipeline in village Qaisar Khan near Khairpur city of Sindh. Eventually, gas supply to Sukkur, Khairpur and other cities was cut off after the blast.
Also, in a remote area of Balochistan’s Dera Bugti district a pipeline was blown up which suspended gas supply to Pir Koh gas plants.
Police and security forces arrived at the sites along with the repairing staff which straight away started work to repair the pipelines.
Various gas pipelines have been blown up over the past few months in towns bordering restive Balochistan. The rebels have also targeted passenger trains by blowing up railway tracks in Sindh, Balochistan and Punjab.
