NAB arrests former chief nutrition officer in Tawana Pakistan corruption case
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi Tuesday arrested Planning Commission of Pakistan former chief nutrition officer Muhammad Ayub from Islamabad.
He allegedly caused a loss of Rs 180 million approximately to the National exchequer in Tawana Pakistan Project of defunct Ministry of Social Welfare in the award of contract to Vita Pakistan Limited. Arrest warrant of the said accused was issued by NAB chairman.
The bureau has also arrested one of the main accused in Modarba case who deprived hundreds of people of their hard earned money.
On a tip-off, Hamid Nawaz of M/s BolanCity (Pvt) Ltd was arrested at Rawalpindi. His name was already placed on the Exit Control List. The accused allegedly cheated public at large depriving them of millions of rupees in the garb of so called Modarba business. In the same case the accused Muhammad Irfan has also been taken into physical custody from Adiyala Jail through the permission of Accountability Court. Affected people had so far registered their claims against these accused persons to the tune of Rs 130 million.
Malik mandate for KBD already existed in 1991 Water Accord. However the Water Accord awaits it implementation as now water shortages are being shared instead of future storages of water.
