Another anti-polio drive in high-risk districts
The Extended Programme for Immunization (EPI) of the Punjab Health department has fixed a target of administering anti-polio drops to around 4.127 million children of eight high-risk districts starting from today till April16, said EPI Additional Director Dr Nazir Hussain on Sunday.
The district in which the drive is going to be launched includes Lahore, Rawalpindi, Mianwali, Jhang, Sahiwal, TT Singh, Multan and Khanewal.
Over 3,009 teams consisting of two persons have been constituted to perform their duty in the drive.
Around 2,188 teams have also been set up in different teaching hospitals to administer anti-polio drops.
The EPI department has also formed mobile teams and transit teams to administer anti-polio drops at railway stations, bus stands and inter-provincial boarder areas including Rawalpindi, he added.
