Student enrollment to be increased 10% in FATA in next academic session
Enrollment of students in Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA) is expected to increase by at least 10 percent in the forthcoming academic session 2014-15.
An official of Ministry for States and Frontier Region informed that the Government has taken a number of steps for increasing enrollment of children between age of five to sixteen in schools of FATA.
He stated that to increase enrollment rate and reducing the burden on the parents, free text books are being provided to all male and female students from KG to class 10th in government schools since 2005-06. He further informed that the female students of government schools, from class 6th to 10th in entire FATA are given a monthly scholarship of Rs 200 per month per student for encouraging them and nurturing the trend of girl education in the area.
The official said male and female students in Government Primary Schools are given 75g of biscuits packet everyday and female from middle up to secondary schools are given 4.5 kg tin of edible oil on monthly basis.
