PESHAWAR
Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesman Shahidullah Shahid on Sunday said that the TTP has nothing to do with the ongoing fighting between two rival groups, however, he said efforts were afoot for a truce between the warring groups.
Shahid told a private TV channel on phone, “A section of media has launched propaganda on the pretext of minor argument in the TTP and we would like to clarify that the ongoing fight between the two groups has nothing to do with the entire TTP.”
However, he said some bitterness was created out of misgivings among some of the warlords, which was immediately resolved by the TTP Shura. He said that this matter was in no way linked with TTP-government talks and ceasefire.
Shahid said that all the segments of the TTP abide by the decision taken by the shura on the orders of TTP chief Mullah Fazlullah.
He also said, “The TTP rejects all propaganda and we believe in the supremacy of Shariat-e-Islami.”
