ISLAMABAD
Republic of Korea Prime Minister Chung Hongwon on Sunday received a red-carpet welcome as he arrived on a four-day official visit.
Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal welcomed the Korean PM and his delegation at Nur Khan Airbase. The Korean ambassador to Pakistan was also present.
Clad in traditional dresses, a boy and girl presented bouquets to the dignitary. Hongwon is visiting Pakistan at the invitation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
This is the first-ever prime minister level visit to Pakistan from the Republic of Korea since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1983.
During his stay, he will meet Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif followed by delegation level talks. He will also call on President Mamnoon Hussain.
The Korean PM will be the chief guest at the “Korea Pakistan Investment Cooperation Forum”, jointly organized by Board of Investment, Pakistan and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency
(KOTRA) on April 14.
Hongwon will also meet the Korean community. He will visit Shakarparian to plant a tree and National Monument.
