Religious Affairs Minister Sardar Muhammad Yousaf said on Saturday he would move a resolution in the National Assembly and Senate for Hazara province.
A separate province was the constitutional right of the people of Hazara, the minister said while addressing the All Parties Martyrs Conference to commemorate those who were killed on April 12, 2010 during a demonstration for the new province.
He said the adoption of resolution for Hazara province by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly was the first step. The minister said they had formed a committee, which would meet Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and leaders of political parties to develop consensus on the resolution for new province in the Senate and National Assembly.
Yousuf said seven people had given their lives for the cause of a separate province, which would not go waste. The minister said the PM had taken revolutionary steps for the development of Hazara division, including construction of motorway, airport and many other projects.
