Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi said on Saturday that the PTI was playing its role for holding transparent local body polls in the Punjab province.
Talking to reporters after a party meeting which discussed the local bodies elections and the founding day of the PTI, Shah Mehmood said that the PTI wanted to hold LB elections at the earliest. He said the party believes in devolution of power at the grass roots level so that people could feel the sense of democracy.
He said the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) should make a proper base for delimitations so that level playing field could be ensured for all stakeholders. “The party has directed all its office bearers to fully participate in the workers convention being held on April 25 in Islamabad,” he added.
Mian Mehmmodur Rasheed and Jehangir Khan Tareen were also present on the occasion.
