The Chitral chapter of Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Saturday demanded of the party’s central leadership to dissolve its district office cabinet.
The PTI workers presented the demand at a convention at a local hotel where provincial president of the PTI Azam Khan Swati was also present as the chief guest.
The workers said that the PTI had promised to bring change, but “we see no changes in Chitral, therefore the district cabinet should be dissolved immediately. The workers also complained that there was no change to been in any of the main departments of the province: Education, Health or other departments.
“The timber mafia is very strong and the PTI leadership has failed miserably to stop them despite making tall claims in past,” they said. They further censured that the PTI office had been closed for last three months.
They were of the view that Chitral had potential of producing 15,000MW of electricity, but its residents were facing prolonged periods of load-shedding.
On the occasion, Insaf Students Federation (ISF) demanded construction of a university in Chitral where more than 10,000 students of the district had to study in different universities across the country.
Addressing the event, Azam Swati said that the PTI had never disappointed its workers and shan’t either. He also assured the party workers of setting up of a university in Chitral.
Those who spoke on the occasion included Iltaf Gohar, ISF President Nazir Ahmad, Chitral PTI President Abdul Latif, ISF General Secretary Israruddin, Youth Wing General Secretary Saraf Khan G and Raziuddin.
