Bomb-proof wall being set up at Musharraf’s farmhouse

ISLAMABAD

A bomb-proof security wall is being constructed around the farmhouse of former president Pervez Musharraf in view of the threats to his life, a private TV channel reported on Saturday.
Earlier on Saturday, heavy machinery and bomb-proof concrete blocks were transported to the retired army general’s Chak Shahzad residence.
The security wall is expected to be set up by the evening.
Ever since his return to Pakistan, he has been receiving life threats while explosives have been discovered around his farmhouse several times.
Meanwhile, security around Musharraf’s farmhouse was beefed up on Saturday. According to the security plan, all routes to the farmhouse, other than the entrance, will be closed off. Security personnel will also be posted at the entrance.
There have been many attempts on the former military leader’s life with the latest alleged assassination attempt on April 3, when a bomb exploded on the road through which his convoy had passed minutes earlier.
