The Sindh High Court (SHC) Friday suspended the stay order against the construction of Clifton flyover and underpass.
The SHC two-member bench comprising of Justice Aqeel Abbasi and Justice Zafar Rajput hearing the Bharia Town petition suspended the stay order earlier issued by Justice Munib Akhtar.
During the hearing, Bahria Town lawyer made a plea that the area in question falls under the jurisdiction of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation and, as such, Defence Housing Authority (DHA) petition against the construction of Clifton flyover and underpass was illegal, while according to law preparation of environment affects of this project was not mandatory.
The court suspended the stay order and adjourned the hearing until April 22.
