Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan on Friday admitted a petition for hearing challenging the apex court’s powers for taking suo motu notices.
The Watan Party had last month challenged the suo motu notice powers of the SC through a petition which was rejected by the registrar after raising several objections. Consequently, Barrister Zafarullah had filed an appeal plea against these objections.
However, Justice Nasirul Mulk admitted the appeal plea for hearing on Friday and quashed the registrar objections. A larger bench of the SC will hear the petition
