President Mamnoon Hussain gave away Rs 1 million cheque to each member of the Pakistani Street Child Football team which finished third in Street Child World Cup (SCWC) in Brazil by defeating the United States here at State Guest House on Friday.
The president lauded the performance of the team and urged them to continue their handwork in the future.
He said there was enough potential among the youth of the country and the recent performance of these young players had provided testimony to this fact. The president on the occasion offered full government support to the representatives of the Azad Foundation for grooming the talents of the team. Earlier, CEO Azad Foundation briefed the president on the efforts made to make it possible for the street children team to participate in SCWC.
