Lawyer, five others shot dead in Karachi

KARACHI-

A lawyer belonging to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawyers’ forum was shot dead on Thursday by unidentified gunmen in Gulshan e Iqbal area of Karachi, a private news channel reported.

The death toll for Thursday reached six with the incident.

The victim has been identified as Advocate Waqar Shah, vice president of Muslim League Lawyers Wing.

Sindh High Court (SHC) Chief Justice Maqbool Baqar took notice of the incident and directed Sindh inspector general of Sindh police to submit a report on the incident.

In protest of the killing, the lawyers association boycotted the court proceedings.

Earlier on Thursday, three students of a local seminary were shot dead in a hotel in Gulistan e Johar.
Two of the the victims were identified as Hayatullah and Ali Ahmed.

Also on Thursday, unknown assailants opened fire on a car, killing one and wounding other.

The deceased was identified as Hyder Raza.

In Shah Faisal Colony, a man identified as Umar Farooqui was killed in an ambush.
