The federal government has decided to refer the former government’s Rs 1 billion scandal of scanners to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
According to the Interior Ministry, some X-ray inspection systems worth Rs 1 billion were imported during former interior minister Rehman Malik’s tenure, but all of them were found to be not working and could not be installed.
The government has now decided to file a case against the company and the officials who received the systems.
Sources said the government has directed NAB to prepare a case against the former government.
