Taliban infighting kills 11 more militants

Clashes among splinter groups of the banned terror outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on Wednesday entered the third day with 11 more militants falling prey to their erstwhile comrades in arms.
The clashes erupted in Shaktoi area of South Waziristan and later spread to Data Khel area of North Waziristan and Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to reports, at least 11 militants from both groups were killed in the clashes.
Reports from Shawal region revealed that four militants were killed when unidentified men ambushed their vehicle. Those killed were said to be members of a splinter group of the Taliban.
The second clash erupted in Kot Khadaki near Gomal Bazaar in Tank District. The police confirmed that they had recovered five bodies from the scene. Area residents said that as many as seven militants were killed in the clashes.
Death toll from the clashes in the last three days rose to 31. Officials said that more than 12 militants have been hospitalised.
Reports from South and North Waziristan said that militants from rival groups were consolidating their positions in the region, especially in Data Khel and Mirali of North Waziristan, and FR Jandola connecting Tank with South Waziristan.
Though differences exist among militants loyal to Hakimullah Mehsud and his successor Mullah Fazlullah but the latest clashes started with killing of Kashid Khan Mehsud and three others in Shaktoi on Sunday. Kashid was associated with Hakimullah Mehsud group.
