In a statement that left citizens across Pakistan flabbergasted, banned terror outfit, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) condemned the bombings in Rawalpindi’s Sabzi Mandi and Sibi’s Jaffar Express saying that attacking innocent civilians was illegal and prohibited in Islam.
In a statement, TTP spokesman Shahidullah Shaid said the Taliban condemned blasts which targeted public places. “Hidden elements shouldn’t be ignored in such acts,” he added.
Shahid said the oppressed people of Balochistan and Sindh were their brothers but targeting innocent people was also a crime. He said foreign hands should not be ignored in such attacks because they wanted to punish the people for their love for Islam.
The TTP spokesperson said that after failing to suppress the Taliban, these forces had launched attacks to defame the banned organisation. He said these hidden hands had earlier carried out blasts in Lahore, Peshawar and other cities as well to bring a bad name to TTP.
Shahid said the ceasefire announced by the TTP has been recognised by the media and urged the people to find out who were behind such heinous crimes.
