Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif reached China Wednesday for participating in the 2014 Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) at the invitation of the Chinese government.
Upon his arrival at Sanya on Wednesday evening, the prime minister was received by Deputy Governor of Hainan Chen Zhi Rong and Ambassador of China to Pakistan Sun Wei Dong.
Nawaz Sharif will deliver a speech at the opening plenary of the BFA on April10, which would be inaugurated by Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang. Later, he will join other world leaders, including the prime ministers of Australia, South Korea and Kazakhstan, at a banquet hosted by the Chinese premier.
The prime minister would also make a keynote speech at a seminar on “Reviving the Silk Route”, which would be attended by the leaders of China, Iran and Kazakhstan.
Besides attending the forum, the prime minister will hold a bilateral meeting with the Chinese premier. The two leaders will review the progress in bilateral ties – with particular focus on economic cooperation and the China- Pakistan Economic Corridor. The PM will also meet the exim chairman of Bank of China.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is accompanied by Special Assistant to PM Tariq Fatemi and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
