Altaf Hussain questions peace talks with TTP

LONDON-

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain on Wednesday questioned why the government was holding talks with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) if it was not involved in the bomb blasts in the country, a private news channel reported.

Hussain, speaking in reference to Wednesday early morning’s blast in Islamabad, said that the TTP continues to kill innocents in terrorist attacks yet the government is continuing talks with the militant outfit.

He urged that the authorities take strict action against the perpetrators of today’s fruit market blast that has killed 20 people and injured more than a 100 in the national capital.

He asked that for what purposes were the 19 TTP prisoners involved in killings of army personnel were released by the government, adding that now the release of 13 others has also been agreed upon.

The MQM chief asked that if the TTP denies involvement in the terrorist attack in Islamabad then the nation needs to know why the government is holding dialogue with them.
