The Bomb Disposal Unit on Wednesday saved Karachi from another act of terrorism when it defused a 13-kilogram bomb recovered from Khalid bin Waleed Road, a private news channel reported.
According to the report, the bomb was found in the residential area Pakistan Employees Cooperative Housing Society (PECHS) block 6 at Khalid Bin Waleed road.
The BDU was called in immediately to defuse the bomb.
According to the BDU officials, the bomb weighed around 13 kilograms and if it had not been defused on time it would have caused a huge loss of life.
The bomb was an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) connected with a battery and a mobile phone, they added.
