NA deputy secy freed after paying Rs 40m ransom

The abducted deputy secretary of National Assembly (NA), Moazzam Kalru returned to his home on Tuesday after his family reportedly paid Rs 40 million to the kidnappers.

Kalru was kidnapped on January 25 from Nawabpur area of Multan when he was en route to his farmhouse by car. No group had claimed responsibility for the kidnapping.

Kalru was kidnapped from NA-151 which is the same constituency from where former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s son Ali Haider Gilani was kidnapped by Taliban earlier last year.
