IHC displeased with CDA over alleged irregularities in plot allotment
“The plot allotment letter has no sector on it. Has the Capital Development Authority (CDA) started allotting plots in heaven? CDA indeed has become a hub of corruption,” said Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) Tuesday while hearing a petition filed by Syed Ghulam Farid and others on faulty plot allotment by CDA.
The petitioners had complained that CDA was committing irregularities in the allotment of plots. Allotment letters have been issued to other people as well with reference to 28 plots in Sector F-11 while “deserving” persons have been deprived of their rights.
CDA Land Director Nadim Abroo appeared in the court and presented an allotment letter in the court. The court rejected and returned this letter expressing its displeasure.
Justice Siddiqui expressed annoyance over the missing sector name on the allotment letter and directed CDA to “put its house in order first”.
The court directed the CDA to allot the plot within 24 hours as per law and file report before it on this count. The hearing of the case has been adjourned till Wednesday.
