Foolproof security awaits Bilawal in Punjab: Sanaullah

LAHORE

Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Monday said that Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would be provided foolproof security during his Punjab visit.
Talking to reporters, Sanaullah said he had never said the Punjab government would not provide security to Bilawal. He said the provincial government would extend necessary security to the PPP chairman.
About the statement of PPP Senator Abdul Rehman Malik regarding life threats to Bilawal in Punjab, Sanaullah said everyone knows how much truth former Interior Minister speaks. He said no one can compete Malik when it comes to telling lies.
He said the government was serious in peace talks with the Taliban, adding that dialogue process is moving ahead in a positive direction.
Meanwhile, sources said that Bilawal had planned to visit Punjab in March but he postponed the tour after getting life threats.
Sources said that in the wake of threats, former president Asif Zardari has decided to accompany his son to Punjab. Punjab PPP President Manzoor Wattoo has been tasked to arrange three public meetings for Bilawal in Punjab. In addition, Wattoo would also arrange meetings with leaders of various political parties in Lahore.
Sources added that during the PPP Central Executive Committee meeting on the death anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, some PPP leaders from Punjab had raised the issue that due to lack of interest of Zardari and Bilawal the PPP was getting weaker. After which, Zardari vowed that he would visit Punjab along with Bilawal.
