Two-day tent pegging concludes

The two day tent pegging event, organised by Capital Development Authority (CDA) has been concluded at Fatima Jinnah Park Islamabad.
Around 600 horsemen from 28 elite clubs of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Kashmir participated in the event. Speaking on the occasion Chairman CDA, Maroof Afzal said the authority is committed to promoting cultural and traditional activities for the residents of the Federal Capital.
The provision of recreational and healthy activities to the citizens is on our priority, he added. The chairman said that tent pegging is traditional sport of Pakistan and the daring competitors, challenging each other with an enthusiastic and emotional display of skills.
He said sports like tent pegging put positive impact on our society, adding that CDA would continue to organize such healthy and traditional sports in its available resources. He praised the sports and culture department for organising such mega tent pegging competition.
During the two-day tent pegging competition, Malik Ramzan of Al-Khayam Mashhadi Mehervi Ideal Club secured first position in single horsemen category. Mahar Nasir Ali Sipra of Loyalpur Club stood second, while Raja Mukhtar Hussain of Al-Haider Club achieved third position respectively.
