Rulers replaced begging bowl with cauldron: Shujaat

Pakistan Muslim League President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Sunday said that his party had broken the begging bowl but Nawaz Sharif-led government has picked up “degh” (cauldron) for begging.
Talking to reporters at his residence, he said that the interests of Pakistani farmers should be taken care of in agricultural trade with India.
The former prime minister said that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif should quit politics of vindictiveness. Asked whether the way of the army could be checked through amendments in the constitution and the law, Shujaat said that as a matter of truth to check the intervention of the army, the institution of the army should be accepted with good intention, they should not be treated as domestic servant nor they should be humiliated.
He said the army never seeks permission before coming to power, adding that a jeep and two trucks were required for this, trucks stands outside and the general goes inside in jeep, salutes to the prime minister and says, “Sir, we are ready, you have to go”.
To other questions, the PML leader said that the PML-N did not want to hold local bodies’ elections. He said that former chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry had destroyed privatisation of the steel mills because of which the institution was now at the brink of destruction.
