Taliban demanded 250, we released only 19, says Rana Tanveer

Defence Production Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain has said that no part of Pakistani land will be vacated for Taliban, a private news channel reporter on Saturday.

Speaking to media after visiting a book fair in Punjab University, Rana Tanveer said that the military serves the federal government and can be deployed anywhere in the state. He added that no land will be vacated for the militants.

He further said that the militant organisation had provided a list of 250 of their captured men but only 19 extremists were released. “The option of a military operation is always there but the government wants to resolve the issue via dialogue”, he added.

The minister further stated that the export of military arms is equal to none in the global market and the ammunition will be sold to other states including Saudi Arabia after receiving their assurance that it will not in any third state.

SAUDI WANTS AL KHALID TANKS:

Pakistan wants to sell arms to international market, added Rana Tanveer. He continued saying Pakistan wasn’t getting its due share in international market, and wanted to generate revenue by means of selling arms.

He further said that Pakistan would make sure that the items sold would not be used against third country.

Responding to a question, he said Saudi Arabia might be interesting in buying Al Khalid Tanks.
