*Mehmoodur Rashid says his party to move bill in Punjab Assembly
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) will table a bill in the provincial assembly regarding deteriorating law and order situation in the Punjab, said PTI senior leader and Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader Mian Mehmoodur Rashid while talking to journalists after inquiring about health of Aqsa, a victim of domestic violence in Mayo Hospital on Saturday.
Mehmoodur Rashid alleged that the Punjab government has failed completely to maintain law and order, provision of speedy justice and protection to public lives and properties.
He said that masses were suffering due to poor governance of the sitting government which has all concentration over projects like Metro Bus Service instead of resolving the problems faced by common man.
The opposition leader said that the Punjab government which made tall claims of ending ‘Thana culture’ has made the province a ‘police state’.
Mehmoodur Rashid expressed grave concerns over rapid increase in incidents of domestic violence against women, torturing to death of young house maids and social injustice.
He said that due to prolonged delay in provision of justice and releasing the influential accused, victims were forced to commit suicide to get rid of miseries.
The PTI leader said that providing instant justice and improving law and order situation was vital for progress and development in the Punjab.
