The City Traffic Police (CTP) will take action against vehicles parked in doubles lines at CNG stations, said Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi, Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Shoaib Khurram on Saturday.
The CTO, in statement said, the CTP had banned parking vehicles in double lines on the roads at CNG stations and decided to take strict action against the violators.
The CTO said that the double lines at CNG stations obstructed smooth flow of traffic. The vehicles parked in double lines would be impounded and challan tickets would be issued to their owners, he added.
He said a proposal had been sent to the authorities concerned that the CNG supply schedule should be changed particularly for Rawalpindi city and the stations should be opened at night so that obstructions in smooth traffic flow could be avoided.
The CTO appealed to the citizens to cooperate with the traffic police to ensure smooth traffic flow on roads. He advised the motorists to park their vehicles in single line at CNG stations to wait for their turn.
