Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal has said the government was planning to double the budget of health and education sectors in next five years.
He was addressing the inaugural session of two-day 23rd biannual International Convention of Pakistan Islamic Medical Association on Saturday. He said the government’s top priority is the development of human resources in the country.
The minister said the martial laws eaten up the country like a cancer. He said the accountability of dictators like Pervez Musharraf was important for social and economic development and political stability of the country. He said the government was subjecting Musharraf to trial in greater national interest, not for political point scoring. He said the country was facing multiple crises due Pervez Musharraf’s faulty policies. He said due to positive decisions of the current government, foreign investment in the country was on the rise.
