The Supreme Court (SC) has restored the National Assembly’s membership of PTI lawmaker Ghulam Sarwar Khan.
Khan’s membership was suspended by the high court in fake degree case. The SC ordered the trial court to give decision of the case without being prejudiced by the decision and observation of superior judiciary.
The SC has ruled that need was there that new parameters and legal and constitutional explanations are pursued in exercising the power of taking suo motu notice by the superior judiciary in the perspective of changing circumstances. Therefore, it is requested to the chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) to constitute a larger bench in this matter to give decision in respect of such complaints in terms of their legal and constitutional justification.
