ISLAMABAD

Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid said on Thursday that former president Pervez Musharraf imposed the Taliban on Pakistan.
He said the PML-N was not divided over allowing Musharraf to visit Dubai. Talking to reporters at the Parliament House, the minister said only the Supreme Court (SC), and not the government, was authorised to remove Musharraf’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL). He said the PML-N leaders are agreed that the law should decide Musharraf’s fate.
He said the shifting of Musharraf to his residence was a welcome development, adding that those responsible for blast in the route of Musharraf’s residence will be nabbed soon.
To a question, Rashid said Pakistan was pursuing the policy of non-interference in other countries. He said Islamabad desires friendly neighbourly relations with Tehran and the prime minister wants to pay an early visit to the neighbourly country.
He said Pakistan wanted elections in Afghanistan and India to be peaceful. Rashid said peace process with Taliban has been started to restore peace in the country. He said incidents of terrorism have witnessed decline since the start of dialogue process. He said Pakistan will be made as symbol of peace, and not the war.
The minister said the number of drone attacks had come down due to the categorical position of the government on the issue. He said the whole world is admiring Pakistan for its gradual march towards peace, adding that Pakistan was gradually becoming a more safe country.
