Judicial Commission to meet on 10th for judges’ appointment

A meeting of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan will be held on April 10 for considering appointment of two additional judges in the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani will preside over the meeting.

The meeting will be attended by the members of the Judicial Commission including three senior most judges of the Supreme Court including Justice Nasirul Mulk, Justice Jawwad S khawaja and Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Anwar Kansi, senior most judge of the respective high court after the chief justice of Pakistan and Attorney General for Pakistan Salman Aslam Butt among others.

Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid who is also holding additional charge of the Ministry of Law will also attend the meeting as member of the commission.

According to sources of the Commission, four names Anees Jillani, Mian Rauf, Sher Shah Kansi and Khalid Ahmed Kabdani will be considered for the appointment of two additional judges of IHC.

During the last meeting of the commission, the Commission deferred the consideration of appointment of two additional judges in Islamabad High Court (IHC) for a period of three weeks.

The Commission also asked the Chief Justice Islamabad High Court to send only four names (two for each post of federal capital Islamabad and Balochistan) not twelve as placed before the Commission during the last meeting.
