Taliban negotiating team member Professor Ibrahim on Wednesday said that no progress was taking place in the talks between the government and the militant organisation.
Though he refused to elaborate on as to why the process has hit a snag, he said that the committees representing the government and the Taliban had the agenda of bringing peace and for this purpose the process should move forward.
Ibrahim said the government had yet to respond over the release of detainees and other confidence building measures.
He said that a suitable venue was also yet to be decided to hold talks. Meanwhile, Taliban committee coordinator Yosuf Shah said the ceasefire announced by the militants was still intact despite the lapse of March 31 deadlines.
He said that he was in touch with the government and the Taliban, adding that the ceasefire will remain in place until the TTP announced otherwise.
