Shabir Khan resigns from PTML board

Shabir Khan has tendered his resignation from the Board of PTML (Ufone) and it has been accepted by the Prime Minister.
Shabir Khan and Faisal Ijaz Khan were recently appointed by the federal government as its nominees to the Board of Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML, Ufone). At the same time, the federal government also appointed many other highly-experienced individuals from the private sector as its nominees to the Boards of various enterprises in which the federal government has an important economic stake.
Shabir Khan was nominated to the Board keeping in view his rich international experience with blue-chip multinational corporations in various sectors, including Telecoms, IT, Defence and Finance. Well before his appointment to the Board of PTML, he was also co-opted by the federal government to the Cabinet Committee on restructuring to exploit his extensive transformational modernisation, corporate turnaround and change management experience in both public and private sectors organizations.
Khan has never been inducted as an employee of PTML (Ufone) or any government department or institution. He has, however, tendered his resignation from the Board of PTML (Ufone) and it has been accepted by the PM, a statement of the Prime Minister’s House said.
