Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday presided over a key meeting of his party leaders and re-consulted with them over whether or not former president retired General (r) Pervez Musharraf should be allowed to fly for UAE to see his ailing mother, a private news channel reported.
Sources said that the PM has also contacted former president and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan for a unanimous decision in this regard.
To discuss the issue, the PM chaired a meeting yesterday at the Prime Minister Office where majority of the PML-N’s leaders opposed Musharraf’s exit from Pakistan. However, according to sources, a consensus has been reached today.
Musharraf, who was indicted by the Special Court for treason on Monday, has applied for his name to be removed from the ECL and the ball is now in federal government’s court.
The official Xinhua news agency quoted police in Xinjiang assaying a man identified as Ibrahim Qahar had organised a group of 17 people to produce the explosives at a rented house.
If our government and judiciary spent as much time, effort and conviction in dealing with actual problems, dangers, threats and criminals in this country then I’m sure they’d be serving. Us. The Pakistani people. A lot better than their blood thirsty with hunt of a man who had served his country and now is being treated with less dignity than the common criminal, Taliban or flesh eating blasphemers. Well, gentleman. All I can say is Allah is watching you all. And his justice is eternal. Let the poor man go and see his mother. After all he’s done for his country this is how we repay him. Shame shame shame.
