Several broken roads in the federal capital are causing accidents and creating problems for the motorists.
Such roads had exposed the small vehicles and their drivers to serious threats. These roads include the main Nazmudin Road, F-6 where potholes have popped up owing to frequently plying of heavy traffic.
Likewise, the road from sector I-10 to Faizabad is also in ugly shape, and gives the look of an under-construction thoroughfare at various places.
“The condition of roads near the Islamabad highways is also very bad, where many vehicles have gotten accidents merely due to potholes and bumpy sections,” said Muhammad Ali, a resident of F-6, who uses the road every day.
“During the rain, the road turns into pond and the drivers cannot spot the craters, which eventually damage their vehicles,” he added.
A taxi driver said that there were big holes in the centre of the road in front of F-6, but the authorities concerned seemed least interested in repairing it. He also pointed out that some dangerous potholes on the Kashmir Road, between Peshawar Morr and G-10, are getting larger, which needs urgent repairing.
The residents have demanded of the authorities concerned to reconstruct the roads for making the traffic flow smooth besides avoiding public from road mishaps.
