Pakistan High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Wajid Shamsul Hasan has decided to step down from his position, a private news channel reported on Tuesday.
He made this announcement while speaking during a gathering in London on Monday. Mr Wajid informed that he will devolve his authority to the Deputy High Commissioner Imran Mirza.
Mr Wajid was deployed as high commissioner in UK for last six years, which is a record tenure for any Pakistani envoy.
The Government of Pakistan so far has not announced the successor of Mr Wajid.
Last year, Wajid Shamsul Hasan had announced his resignation when PML-N took to power, however the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif refused to accept his resignation and asked him to continue serving as the high commissioner to the UK.
