PM calls on int’l companies to manage airports

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Tuesday said that his government was initiating a transparent process for the management of civil airports in Pakistan and international companies would be invited to compete in bidding process in this regard.

Talking to delegations of Turkish companies STFA and TAV at the PM House, the prime minister said Pakistan wanted to develop its airports to meet international standards.

Pakistan provides friendly environment for the foreign investors as Pakistan’s economy was full of opportunities in energy and infrastructure sectors, he said. Pakistan’s economic policies had begun to show positive results and as a result the foreign investors were keen to harvest benefits of progressing economy, he added, and pointed out that many foreign investors had shown interest in investment in different sectors of economy.

The CEOs of Turkish companies said their companies have expertise in management and expansion of airports and expressed desire to invest in this sector in Pakistan.

The meeting was attended by Mehmet Ali Neyzi, CEO STFA, Riza Arsan Vice Chairman Pakistan Turkey Business Council, Bulent Ozuturk Investment Coordinator TAV.
