Sindh Minister for Information Sharjeel Memon has claimed that a covert agreement exists between the Taliban, the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and the PML-N and they are directly or indirectly together.

Talking to media outside the Sindh Assembly on Monday, the minister said the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, the Taliban and the PML-N had covert agreement among them, adding that the centre was carrying out dialogue with terrorists in negation to law and constitution.

Memon said a treason trial of former president Pervez Musharraf was a test of the judiciary and the federal government. Independence of judiciary and the government’s courage would come before the public and they would know the truth.

He said he did not take Rana Sanaullah’s comments seriously as he was a non-serious person. He would often give such irresponsible statements, so his statement needed any response. To a question, Sharjeel said the chief minister enjoyed complete confidence of the party’s leadership.

Memon said CM Qaim Ali Shah was a senior and respectable politician and he had a deep eye on all matters in the province. He said due to the CM’s efforts the situation in Thar was bought under control.

He said they condemned the attack on minorities worship places in Larkana and Hyderabad. The Sindh govt has taken notice of the incident and over a dozen people had been arrested while the DSP and the SHO concerned had also been suspended. He said this was a conspiracy against the Sindh govt and an attempt to destabilise it. But they would not allow this conspiracy to succeed, Memon said, adding that protecting the minorities was responsibility of the government and they were fulfilling this responsibility to every extent.
